Watch them twinkle!

Christmas came a bit early for Amelia and Lola this week when they each received a brand new pair of Twinkle Toes sneakers by Skechers. Auntie Tee, their great-aunt, very generously bought these precious shoes for my babies; however, she couldn't stand to make them wait until December 25th to open them.

Both girls love their shoes and have worn them everyday since opening them on Monday. Lola is especially proud to have her very own pair because she has for months coveted the pair Amelia already has.

I chased this gal all over the house trying to get a photo in which her shoes were really visible. This is the best I could do. We're going to have to work on teaching her the art of modeling a product while also striking a fierce pose.

Lola cracks me up because she tries to watch the lights on her shoes blink on and off while she's walking in them. Attempting to watch her toes twinkle while walking around the house has caused Lola to run into all sorts of things including the garbage can, which she knocked over causing a mess in the floor. 

Just for the record, this turn of events did not crack me up. I was also not amused when Lola kept shouting, "Look at the lights, momma!" while I was trying to clean egg shells and coffee grounds from the floor.

Amelia has been crazy in love with this brand of shoes since receiving a pair for her birthday back in April. That pair got LOTS of wear, but had to be retired when she could no longer squeeze her little feet into them; although, believe me she tried. 

Like any woman who refuses to give up a good pair of shoes, Amelia was willing to try to smile through the pain and wear her beloved shoes until she could stand them no longer. Thank goodness Auntie Tee saved the day with a new pair for her. Otherwise we might have ended up forking over heaps of money to the podiatrist for repairs to her feet harmed by being forced into a pair of too-small shoes.

Now there's a girl who understands how to model a pair of shoes! And, I didn't have to spend 10 minutes chasing her and waste 16 shots on the camera to get this fantastic photo!
