You see, we've been waiting since early October for this tooth to fall out. The dentist told Amelia at her last appointment that her tooth might be out by Halloween. Well, since it was still in after the holiday had come and gone, Amelia thought it would be the next Halloween before she lost her tooth.
We watched and wiggled that tooth for weeks, but Amelia was very reluctant to pull it. She wanted to let it fall out when it was good and ready. But, she didn't factor in her ever more visible big tooth, though, because it basically pushed her baby tooth out of her mouth.
She lost her tooth while visiting Grandmaw and Pawpaw. She'd been wiggling it with her tongue, as she's done quite often these last few weeks, when all of a sudden it came out. I wasn't there, but her daddy said she said something to the effect of, "Hey, my tooth just came out."
Thankfully, the tooth made it home and she was able to tuck it into her tooth pillow and nestle it under her bed pillow to await the tooth fairy's visit. The tooth fairy likely had to made a few other stops before landing at our house because it took Amelia quite a while to fall asleep.
